Tuina (Chinese) Massage
Tuina (Chinese Massage) is the oldest known
system of massage in the world. It is a deep, rhythmic and
energising treatment, given through the clothes, with no oil
or lotions used. It is sometimes referred to as "acupuncture
without needles" as it works on the same systems.

Massage in the loosest sense of the word, Tuina utilises the
acupuncture system of points and meridians. The methods include
the use of hand and arm techniques to loosen joints & soft
tissue (muscles and tendons), stimulation of acupressure points
to directly affect the flow of Qi (or Chi) energy, and gentle
stretches to realign muscle & ligaments& relax the
body. It is more “bodywork" than massage as we know
it in the West.

Tuina takes massage to another level through its connections
with the qi flow. Many of the acupuncture points relate directly
to emotional states - and therefore mental states - of the
individual, and stimulating them physically results in combined
physical and psychological health.
Wonderful for anyone low in energy or with muscular pain/
tension, we also use Tuina for relief of all types of headache,
joint
stiffness, stress, insomnia, respiratory & digestive problems,
IBS, anxiety & panics, ME& general fatigue.
Anyone who loves a deep, stimulating treatment will enjoy
this dynamic approach and really feel their body has been
put through
its paces, resulting in deep muscle relaxation but with
a mental "wake-up".
One client reported that she went home & cleaned her cooker,
and felt energised for days! Others have said it's like doing
a gym workout - but without the effort!
